This new course programme is designed to provide a very good basic knowledge of sheep husbandry combined with an understanding of the basic biology of the sheep. The focus being to gain a basic knowledge of sheep and the sheep industry. Encouragement is given for students to 'personalise' the lessons by discussing the lesson in the context of their own local area. There is no substitute for experience and students are encouraged to take every opportunity to make contact with local farmers.
