There is rising awareness of the role of forests and woodlands in enhancing the landscape, and they are important resources for timber, biomass production, amenity, tourism and biodiversity. Forestry focuses on the management of trees on a large scale, and – with UK woodland levels and timber production increasing* – it’s a growing industry. Our flexible, home-study courses are ideal for those starting or progressing a forestry career, and include topics such as principles of woodlands, forestry and ecology; soil environments; selection, planting and care; and the law relating to trees.
